What’s the story? Cyprus is an intensive five-day short film development writing workshop – part of the Talents Generator Factory initiative, taking place for the third time in Cyprus in the framework of the 14th International Film Festival of Cyprus.
The workshop is led by two experienced tutors aimed at guiding eight directors and/or screenwriters from Cyprus, Israel, Greece and Lebanon in the making of a short film.
TSFM What’s the story? will take place between 14-18 October 2024 at Reset Multifunctional Social Space.
The tutors will be Massimiliano Nardulli, programmer, curator and script advisor and Nolwenn Guiziou, writer, director and script advisor.
The open call for submissions, launched in July 2024, was addressed to upcoming film directors and/or screenwriters living in Cyprus, Greece, Lebanon, Israel, Palestine and Egypt who have been working on a short film project in the early stages of development. The selection committee, composed by members of TGF, selected the following eight participants who will take part in this third edition of What’s the Story? Cyprus 2024:

After the conclusion of the workshop, TGF will provide online pitch training for all course participants. In the following weeks, participants will meet various international producers interested in co-producing short films. Οne participant will be chosen by the tutors to further develop the film script. The selected participant will be then invited to take part in a live pitching session with industry professionals where to present their short film project to be held in Bolzano, during the industry days of Bolzano Film Festival in 2025.
